Edwards Lowell & Girard-Perregaux presents ‘Laureato Sotto Le Stelle’

During an intimate event which took place on 12th September at the Skyhigh Lounge & Bar at InterContinental Malta, Edwards Lowell exclusively presented the Laureato collection from Girard-Perregaux. This luxury sports watch completes the Laureato collection which was relaunched for the first time in 2016, with a special edition of 225 pieces being produced for Girard-Perregaux’s 225th anniversary.

Masters of watches which combine technical performance with elegance, Girard-Perregaux first launched the Laureato in 1975. Clad in steel or pink gold with a 38 or 42mm case, the Laureato Chronograph is meant for versatile, everyday use but because of its unique design, it is able to elevate even more formal outfits.

Adorned with a dial bearing the “Clou de Paris” hobnail motif, a set of small raised pyramids which cover the watch’s face and are instrumental in catching the light, the Laureato will draw stares wherever it is worn. Thanks to its polished octagonal bezel fitted on an integrated case, the watch’s metal bracelet forms a natural extension of the case which makes the Laureato Chronograph a sophisticated feat of design. In addition to this, Girard-Perregaux has fitted this emblematic case with its self-winding chronograph movement, driving two counter and small seconds as well as a date display.

Designed with chic yet functional wearability in mind, the metal bracelet is distinguished by wide satin-brushed H-shaped links as well as domed and polished interlink elements. The juxtaposition of the two polished and satin-brushed surfaces creates heightened visual interest and brings the watch to life even more. When worn, this bracelet reveals the most Girard-Perregaux – SIHH 2018 Laureato Chronograph 2/5 important quality of all: an exceptionally soft, supple feel. It makes the Laureato perfectly comfortable on any wrist. Light whilst being robust, the wearer will not want to take it off.

Privileged guests were able to take in every impeccable detail of this feat of mechanical design whilst enjoying an excellent selection of gins from the gin bar and listening to music from Malta’s very own model deejay Tiffany Pisani. Like the Laureato Chronograph itself, it was a chic night that will be remembered for a long time to come by everyone who was in attendance.
