About the Rolex Cellini
Cellini is Rolex's dress collection, and the exception to almost everything else the brand does. There is no Oyster case, no rotating bezel and no tool-watch heritage. It is a classical round watch on a leather strap, made only in precious metal.
Named after the Florentine goldsmith Benvenuto Cellini, the line ran in various forms from 1968 until Rolex retired it, which means everything in the Cellini family is now only available pre-owned.
What to look for in a pre-owned Cellini
Metal
Cellini was made in white gold and Everose gold, never in steel. The metal is the first thing to decide, because it changes the character of the watch completely.
Complications
The later collection covered Time, Date, Dual Time and Moonphase. The Moonphase in particular is unlike anything else Rolex has made.
Strap and condition
Cellini watches are worn on leather, and a strap is a wearing part. A tired strap says nothing about the watch itself, and is replaced as part of Rolex certification.
Cellini prices in Malta
Because Cellini is discontinued and was made only in gold, pre-owned prices are set by the metal and the complication rather than by hype. It is one of the few Rolex families where a buyer is paying for the watch rather than for the waiting list. Every watch in this selection is priced, so you can compare without having to ask.
