The Story
Breitling’s ultimate all-purpose sports watch is ready for anything. The Chronomat holds a pivotal place in the brand’s modern history. Introduced for Breitling’s centennial in 1984, at a time when quartz movements dominated, it marked a bold return to mechanically driven watches. It was born from a collaboration with the beloved Italian aerobatic squadron, the Frecce Tricolori. When the team asked for an analog timepiece that could withstand the intensity of a jet cockpit and still look stylish enough to be worn to formal events—Breitling developed the “Chronograph Frecce Tricolori.” It was the blueprint for the Chronomat to follow one year later. The Chronomat Automatic 36 is made to suit a wide range of wrists. It’s powered by the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 10, a Sellita-based automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve and a 6 o’clock date. It model features various dial colors and executions with natural mother-of-pearl dials, and both stainless steel or gem-set bezels. It comes with the quintessential fully-integrated Rouleaux bracelet, which features micro adjustments on both sides of the clasp.
