The Palme d'Or Champage Ball by Chopard

ONE NIGHT IN CANNES

A MID SUMMER CELEBRATION OF THE CANNES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Summer’s most spectacular event happened last Saturday at the dreamy Palazzo Parisio. The Palme d’Or Champagne Ball was hosted by Edwards Lowell and Chopard inviting their most esteemed clients for an experience like no other, with official partners M.Demajo Wines and Spirits and Veuve Cliquot. The event was a celebration of the Cannes Film Festival, where guests were given A-list treatment all night, starting off with a walk down the red carpet whilst being snapped by awaiting paparazzi.

As the guests continued down the red carpet serenaded by the smooth sound of Desi Campbell & the band, through the breathtaking gardens of the Palazzo, two giant Palme d’Or statues stood proudly on the pristine lawn. The Palme d’Or (Golden Palm in English) is the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival, and widely considered the most prestigious prize in the film industry. For one night only, the actual 24-carat gold Palme d’Or left its home in the South of France, and was on display at the event in Malta for each guest to lay their eyes on the prize!

Also on display that evening, was a divine selection of the Chopard Haute Joaillerie collection. Dazzling diamond encrusted watches, magnificent ruby necklaces and exquisite emerald earrings were brought to Malta specially for the night. It wasn’t the first time these jewels were on the red carpet, with most of the items being worn by the stars at the Cannes Film Festival, including a sensational pair of earrings worn by Natalie Portman this year.

Two exquisite bars provided by M.Demajo sat at each side of the garden for the guests to choose from. A delectable Veuve Cliqot Champagne bar at one end, framed by a flower wall in signature Veuve-orange coloured roses. At the other side, a Belevedere Vodka bar for the cocktail-lovers, offering a selection of signature cocktails for the event including the “Palme d’or” a refreshing concoction of Belvedere Vodka garnished with cucumber and watermelon. Throughout the night, guests were tempted with delicious offerings from the Palazzo Parisio kitchen from delicate canapés, to a buffet selection, ending with delightful desserts.

The event had a few more surprises left, internationally-trained dancers wowed the audience with a flamenco-jazz fusion followed by an exhilarating performance from fire dancers. The partygoers then danced the night away with DJ Mia Wave. Each guest went home with a goody bag and a printed and framed photograph as a memento of their red-carpet experience, a night never to be forgotten!
