All watches tell time; that is their basic function. But some watches increase in value as time goes by. We’ll be telling you all about why watches make a great investment in a future article, but here, Malcolm Lowell gives us the dish on his top five to actually invest in this year.

The Rolex DEEPSEA D-Blue Dial  Rolex have long been associated with diving and true, to their love for underwater exploration, the company took an active part in the Deepsea Challenge, a collaboration between film-maker James Cameron (known for his direction of Titanic and Avatar) and the National Geographic Society.

The Rolex Deepsea, which had to be created in just five weeks – was taken 10,908metres (35,787 feet) below sea-level, and, once again, Rolex cemented its status as the leading brand for waterproof watches and must-have time pieces. Editor’s note: We are not sure how long the Rolex Deepsea D-Blue dial will be available for, so it’s best to try and get one while they are still in production.

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona was first introduced in 1963 and has since become an iconic watch in the world of motorsports. Its famous version in platinum, with its unique ice-blue dial, was therefore launched last year to mark Rolex’s 50thanniversary.
