The event was dedicated to everything that makes A. Lange & Söhne distinct. A selection of the brand’s most unique timepieces were brought to Malta for the occasion, including the Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar ‘Terraluna’.
Speaking at the event, Edwards Lowell Managing Director, Malcolm R. Lowell, said: “There is no doubt that A. Lange & Söhne is regarded as one of the finest high-end watch manufacturers in Europe, and it has a dedicated following all over the world.
“These classic and iconic timepieces bring something very unique and distinctive to our exclusive and select portfolio. Edwards Lowell is honoured to represent and develop the brand exclusively in Malta.”
AN A. LANGE & SÖHNE HAND ENGRAVER WORKING ON THE MINISCULE COMPONENTS OF A WATCH.
Aside from enjoying the complete range of A. Lange & Söhne timepieces, guests had the opportunity to meet Mr. Luca Dondi, A. Lange & Söhne’s General Director for Central, South West Europe, Russia & CIS, who travelled to Malta to mark the occasion.
Commenting about A. Lange & Söhne’s relationship with Edwards Lowell, Mr Dondi said: “A. Lange & Söhne is a niche brand; the people and their values are crucial factors that make the difference, just like the Lowell family. We chose Edwards Lowell as our exclusive collaborator in Malta because of the family’s knowledge and experience in high-end watches and mechanical complications.”
Throughout the evening, guests had the pleasure to witness one of only five specialised A. Lange & Söhne hand engravers working on the miniscule components of each timepiece. This gave guests the opportunity to experience some of the intricacies that go into these handmade watches, and to marvel at the engravers’ rare talent.
THE RICHARD LANGE PERPETUAL CALENDAR “TERRALUNA”
One of the star attractions of the evening was the fascinating Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar ‘Terraluna’ and guests were keen to learn more about this ‘feat in timekeeping’. The watch houses a movement that controls the delivery of the enormous amount of energy stored in the twin mainspring barrel to assure consistently high rate accuracy across the entire 14-day power reserve period’.
The ‘Terraluna’ is able to tell you where a particular place on earth is in relation to the sun, as well as whether it is night or day in that location. This particular model was just one of the outstanding timepieces presented at the launch.
Local watch aficionados are now able to explore the distinguished collection of A. Lange & Söhne at the Edwards Lowell’s boutique in St Julian’s, where a dedicated showcase is permanently on display.
